BETWEEN CURTAINS

The Dance Worth Staying For

A novel of silence, survival, and choosing yourself again.
She didn’t jump because she wanted to die.
She jumped because she had run out of ways to stay.

Her life didn’t look broken.

It looked… fine.

She showed up.

Held things together.

Loved her daughter.

From the outside, nothing looked like crisis.

But beneath it — something had quietly stopped working.

A relationship that slowly reshaped her independence.

Money she stopped looking at.

Evenings softened by wine that quietly stayed.

Unopened envelopes moved from table to chair to floor.

The exhausting promise of tomorrow, I’ll sort it.

Nothing dramatic.

Just a slow drift into a life she no longer recognised herself inside.

Then, silence.

Not answers.

Not rescue.

Just space.

And within that stillness, something unexpected begins.

A rhythm.

A presence.

A connection that doesn’t ask her to prove, fix, or perform.

And slowly — almost reluctantly — she begins to return to herself.

Not perfectly.

Not all at once.

But consciously.

One choice at a time.

This is a story about

  • losing yourself in ways that look like coping

  • the quiet weight of money, love, and expectation

  • the invisible shifts that change who we become

  • the things we avoid… until we can’t

  • and what it means to choose yourself, one small decision at a time

It’s for the woman who feels like she’s doing everything right… and still feels like she’s disappearing.

"Beautifully written and deeply thought-provoking, Between Curtains captures the quiet truths we often ignore — how small problems compound, how money flows through every part of life, and how easy it is to stop truly living."

Chris

For anyone who has ever felt like they were holding everything together… while quietly falling apart.
"Full of wisdom, insight, and deep compassion… a profoundly relatable story that captures how easily we can slip into financial difficulty — shaped by the subtle pressures of relationships, motherhood, and identity."
